Leader in hands-free wearable safety lights providing thousands in matching grants to help keep law enforcement officers visible and safe
WAUKESHA, Wisc. – Guardian Angel will launch the Col. Tracy Trott Safety Grant at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026.
The grant, created to honor Trott’s commitment to officer safety, will provide $10,000 in matching grants, so U.S. law enforcement agencies can equip their officers, deputies, and agents with Guardian Angel’s hands-free wearable lights.
Trott, who led the Tennessee State Patrol before retiring, was an advocate for improving roadside safety with wearable lights. Over the years, he became a trusted advisor and friend to the Guardian Angel team.
“Col. Trott was a true believer and passionate supporter of smart, effective approaches to keeping all officers safe and seen,” said Chadwick Keller, President and CEO of Guardian Angel. “But as important, he was a wonderful man who, I’m proud to say, became a friend. This grant is to honor him and carry on his legacy in a meaningful way.”
The grant is open to all U.S. based law enforcement agencies. Guardian Angel is accepting applications through Nov. 13 and will select recipients by Nov. 19. To learn more and apply, visit: https://www.guardianangeldevices.com/trott-safety-grant/.
Guardian Angel’s hands-free, wearable lights provide law enforcement officers with 360° visibility so they can see and be seen while on duty. Whether it’s staying visible during a traffic stop, directing traffic, conducting an area search, or during any other assignment, Guardian Angel lights are designed to be versatile and hold up in tough, demanding environments.
The Guardian Angel Elite Series™, used by law enforcement worldwide, makes officers 89% more visible than a hi-vis vest, alone, according to an independent study from Battelle Memorial Institute.
“Our mission is simple: Give officers a reliable, easy-to-use tool that improves their overall safety,” Keller said. “With the Col. Tracy Trott Safety Grant, our goal is to make it easier for departments and agencies to get the gear they need.”
