About Col. Tracy Trott
The Man Behind the Grant
Colonel Tracy Trott served 40 years with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, rising from road trooper to Colonel. He built the nation’s first Traffic Incident Management training track and wrote for Police Chief Magazine on move-over laws that protect roadside responders. After retiring in 2018, he kept working alongside the law enforcement community to improve officer safety.
This grant honors a longtime friend of Guardian Angel and carries his work forward, one agency at a time.

How We Choose
Applications close Nov. 13, 2026, and we’ll contact the agencies we select by Nov.19, 2026. Before we send a quote, our team will help you pick the right devices and mounts.
The Deadline
This round covers 2026 purchases. If your agency is selected, we need your purchase order by December 31, 2026. Payment can come after that. The grant opens again in 2027.
